Summary

Chapter 24

Goldy, Tom, and Marla’s first stop when they reach Boulder is Mane Street, and Tom waits outside while Marla and Goldy enter the salon. Goldy had called ahead and they find Wendy Williams waiting at the reception desk, which has one of Bob Rushwood’s Pails for Trails collection buckets on it. Wendy, who is petite and pretty, remembers Goldy from the day of pampering Holly had treated her to years before, and says that she’d continued doing Holly’s hair until she died. Marla says that they are putting together a memorial service and when Wendy asks how she can help, Goldy says that they knew Holly had a boyfriend she’d adored when she’d moved back to Denver after her divorce and asks if Wendy knows the man’s name.
