Summary

Chapter 6

Arch, Julian, and Goldy wait uneasily in the living room while Father Pete, Drew, and Sergeant Jones make arrangements in the kitchen. As they wait, Goldy notices a hand-painted jigsaw puzzle sitting on a desk, and a portrait-collage of Drew hanging on the wall. After a short time Drew and Sergeant Jones – along with Arch – head upstairs so Drew can pack, and Father Pete joins Julian and Goldy. He says that they were able to get in touch with Drew’s aunt in Alaska and that she will arrive early tomorrow. Drew already has his ticket, and George Ingleby’s notarized consent for the trip; he will spend the night with a foster family, and then leave with his aunt tomorrow morning. Father Pete says that Drew will need some cash to tide him over and Julian – who has money he inherited...
