Kaladin

Kaladin is one of the main characters in this novel and he goes by several different names during the duration of the novel. Most of the time he is called Kaladin, in many of his flashbacks he is called Kal, and the men he trains call him Kaladin Stormblessed quite often. He is a darkeyed man from Alethkar who comes from a family of second nahn, which is a high social status for those who have dark eyes. He was raised to become a surgeon but was always seemed to have a calling for war. As a child, Kaladin was torn between becoming a soldier like so many others and becoming a surgeon as his parents wanted.
