Summary

Chapter 15 sees Aly remembering how she met her friend Radha in middle school, when they bonded after a (white) peer of theirs threw Aly’s food at her at lunch because she, and the food, “smelled like ass” (135). Now, in the present, Radha and Aly walk and talk about everything that took place with Richard and Bindu. Radha theorizes that Ashish is here visiting for reasons beyond just checking in on Bindu. Aly remembers how Ashish grew more outwardly bitter as she became more successful in her job when they were married. Then, she talks about how she went on a date with someone with “no terrible red flags,” and Radha tells her she needs to get over Ashish and really commit to someone new (142). Indeed, Aly has a date later that day.
