Joanna Langley

Joanna Langley is the daughter of Hugo Langley and Elsie Williams Langley. Joanna grew up in the gatekeeper’s house near Langley Hall, her family’s ancestral home. When the estate passed from Joanna’s grandfather to her father, Hugo was unable to pay the taxes on the house and had to sell the estate. Joanna sensed that her father had been never been the same after he lost the family’s estate.

It was only after Hugo’s death that Joanna learned that her father had fallen in love with a woman in San Salvatore after his plane had been bombed down over enemy territory in Italy. Joanna made a trip to San Salvatore to try to find out what happened to the woman her father had loved.
