Bea tells Daniel the story of the house they are in. The house had a name: The Angel of the Mist. It was built in 1899 by a tycoon who had made his fortune in Cuba. This millionaire had come back to Spain with a young American bride. He also had a beautiful mulatto maid, who was said to be his lover. Less than a year after having moved in, the tycoon was found dazed and handcuffed to his armchair. Both his wife and maid were dead. There was blood all over the house.
