Chapter 4 Summary

The group arrives at Godstow Abbey. They are met by Mother Edyve. The bishop explains the situation with the dead man. She agrees to allow them to put the body in their icehouse so they can set a trap for the killers to return and be caught. Mother Edyve summons her own daughter, Sister Havis, to accompany the men tos tore something in their icehouse.

Mother Edyve goes on the explain that they have not received Rosamund's body to bury as of yet. She says that Rosamund's housekeeper Dame Daker has not allowed anyone into the towers since Rosamund died. The bishop insists that they go to the tower, but Mansur and Adelia convince him that they need to rest first.
