Summary

Chapter 58

Thomas and Teresa communicate telepathically, wondering if Grievers are inside the coffins, as they had been before, or if maybe they are meant themselves to go into the coffins. The lids of the coffins all fall off to reveal something bulky inside. Thomas and Teresa decide to investigate one, together. But before anyone can move, the bulky things are revealed to be hideously deformed creatures, pulling free of the coffins. Blades protrude from their hands. Minho orders everyone to grab weapons as the creatures close in on them.

Chapter 59

Teresa gives Thomas a sword while she wields a spear and a dagger. Minho orders everyone to charge and take on a creature. A battle ensues. Thomas jabs at the creature’s bulbous like fleshy spots, stabbing them, causing sparks to fly out, and causing the creature to slow. Around them, the...
