Summary

In Chapter 59, narrated by Christopher, Christopher went to visit Janie at New Horizons, the residential care facility, to try to get her to eat. She had been refusing food and had already been hospitalized once. Janie was happy to see Christopher and showed him the artwork she had done. When he saw that Janie had drawn a picture of them together, he realized that he still loved Janie despite everything she had done.

Meanwhile, Cole was back at home with Christopher and Hannah. On this particular night, Cole had gone to sleep easier. Hannah and Christopher were sitting in the kitchen together when Christopher’s cell phone began ringing. When he did not answer, the house phone rang. Christopher answered only because he was afraid something was wrong. It was Piper. She told them she was coming in the back door.
