Section 6: pages 39-46 Summary

During Friday's game of Capture the Flag, Annabeth sends Percy to patrol the creek border, wanting to get him away from the main action, but while he patrols the creek, Clarisse attacks him. When she knocks him into the water, Percy seems to become revitalized, managing to beat her. Meanwhile, the game ends, and the campers cheer for Luke. Wearing an invisibility hat from her mother, Athena the Goddess of Wisdom and Battle, Annabeth praises Percy for his victory over Clarisse, but when she asks where he learned to fight, he explains that he had a bizarre reaction after falling in the creek. A rustling sound in the bushes precedes a hellhound attacking Percy, but when it pushes him into the creek, Chiron appears to strike the beast down with his bow and arrow. He worries about Percy, but...
