Section 5: pages 34-38 Summary

After Annabeth drops Percy off at Cabin 11, Percy meets Luke who explains that Percy is staying in Hermes's cabin because he is undetermined, meaning that no one knows who his godly parent is. Percy is grateful to Luke since he is the only person who does not treat him like he is diseased, and Luke assures him that the first day is always the worst. Everyone at camp is extended family, and they take care of each other, but Luke also warns Percy that, as the new kid, he will have to earn his reputation, starting with the game of Capture the Flag on Friday which everyone has to play according to camp rules.
