Summary

In Chapter VIII, after Alicia dumped out “her bottles of pills,” the Kid reappeared (291, McCarthy’s italics). He badgered Alicia about what had happened sexually between her and Bobby. Alicia refused to give him any information. Shortly thereafter, she “flew to Dallas” and found “a job at a bar” (294, McCarthy’s italics). Her condition worsened. The Kid continued visiting.
