Summary

In Chapter 22, Lily's mom continues to press about going to the doctor. But Lily stays steadfast, saying she will only go talk to the doctor if she sees her father. Instead, her mom offers for her to call her dad. Her father does not have a cellphone, so she has to call his new girlfriend's phone. It had not occurred to Lily that her father might have moved on. Lily calls her father, but the exchange is short and her father seems distracted. He tells her that he is back in a band, but does not say much else other than that he must go to Caleb's graduation. Lily takes this as her dad has a new child, and therefor going to Portland is not going to happen.

Chapter 23 resumes on Saturday, and Lily has plans to hang out with Abelard but...
