Summary

In Chapter 29, when Nora tries talking to Hayden about what happened in therapy, he simply tells her he thinks the session "was healthy" (276). That night, Nora works from home. Instead of getting upset, Hayden helps with dinner and Liv. Afterwards, Nora considers her marriage once more. She "slips into her best lingerie," wondering if this new Hayden is better (280).

In Chapter 30, on the day of Penny's release, Nora is anxious. Devin keeps calling her, but will not answer when she calls him back. When Nora and Hayden meet up with Cornelia and the other couples for dinner, Nora feels strange knowing that Cornelia knows her "deepest, darkest secret" (282).
