Summary

In Chapter 1, Nora is upset with her husband, Hayden, but cannot explain why. On the way to see the new house in Dynasty Ranch, she feels tense. She is pregnant with their second child and wants a place with more space sooner rather than later. Hayden does not feel the same pressure. Finally they arrive at 2913 Majestic Grove. The community is "nearly a half mile" from the street (5). Once there, they meet "Travis County's number one selling agent," Isla Wong (7). She shows them the house and asks Nora questions about her career as a litigator at Greenberg Schwall.

After collecting their daughter, Liv, "from the in-laws," Nora works from home (11). She and Hayden get into an argument. She is up for partner and has been devoting most of her time to work. She hopes her distraction and frustration do not "wreck her marriage...
