Summary

After arriving at the McBrides' house, Ian, Tony, and Nina let Jordan out of the darkroom, and Tony is incredibly relieved to see she is alive. Jordan begins frantically searching the house, only to find that Lorelei had taken her with her. Jordan begins blaming herself for her father's death, as she could not make him see who Anneliese truly was, but Ian grabs her by the shoulders, telling her "down that road lies madness, believe me" (477). They ask Jordan if there is somewhere remote nearby where Lorelei may have stashed supplies in preparation of ever needing to flee, and she tells them about the family's hunting cabin three hours outside of Boston. Before they chase after her, Ian insists Jordan tell them about the Rusalka nightmare Lorelei has, and is pleased that "the huntress doesn't sleep well" (478). He then turns to Nina...
