Summary

In Chapter 14, Maurizio has had a girlfriend named Paola for over four years. She is divorced and has a young son. Maurizio has a new apartment and the couple lives together. Before they met, he had not dated much and he and Patrizia continued to communicate often with each other. Patrizia becomes jealous as his relationship with Paola flourishes. The new apartment they move into has space for them as well as Maurizio’s daughters and Paola’s son. However, decorating the apartment causes a problem. Maurizio's decorator clashes with Paola who also sees herself as a decorator. Paola wins the fight. Maurizio’s decorator later commits suicide.

Maurizio also tries to eliminate Patrizia from his life. He does not let her use property, even though he pays her an allowance. Patrizia hears about Maurizio’s business dealings and believes that he cannot...
