Summary

In Chapter 3, Alex woke up without Simon next to her. She thought of the night before. She was unsure if Simon had truly been mad, but she did not want to think about it in depth. She tried turning on her phone. It had gotten wet and “the screen flickered” (57). She worried it was broken. She needed to tell Simon about Dom. While getting ready, she told herself everything would be fine.

Alex found Simon in his office. His demeanor was different. He confronted her about his car, and she made an excuse. He wanted her to return to the city, insisting Lori would help her catch the train. Panicking, Alex used her phone as an excuse not to leave. They argued about her behavior at the party.
