Summary

Several months passed since Uni left the forest to settle in a coastal community called Ota Village. While she finds solace in the community's warmth, she remains haunted by memories of her strained relationship with Vaedan. One day, she goes into the forest to collect healing herbs for a villager and encounters Quul, signaling Vaedan's presence nearby. When she returns home, she finds a deer carcass left at her doorstep. Kavi, one of the villagers, sees the foul deer and attributes it to the work of the Ayins, vowing to seek revenge for Uni. Uni tells Kavi that the Ayins are not dangerous, but Kavi doesn't believe her. She realizes that she can no longer run from Vaedan, and decide to go into the forest to speak with him.
