Summary
Connie compares Tristan’s behavior to a drunk person declaring someone is his best friend. Tristan counters that men are being sincere when they say things like that when they’re drunk, they just feel unable to say it when they’re sober. Connie says they can’t judge each other’s feeling because they’ve only just met and they don’t know what the other is usually like, without the influence of the drug. Tristan suggests that the people running the trials say things that aren’t true, for example claiming they have to give up their cellphones because the signals interfere with medical equipment. He reveals that he handed over a dummy phone and still has a working one with him. He offers to give a working phone to Connie and she accepts. They continue to argue about whether it matters...
