Summary

In Chapter 3, Whistledown notes Nigel had been seen buying an engagement ring.

Daphne’s night got even worse when the man who found her with Nigel started laughing at her. Simon explained that he had thought he was going to need to rescue her, but she had taken care of the matter herself. When Daphne asked him what they should do with Nigel, Simon suggested throwing him out on the street. Daphne would not allow that to happen. She explained Nigel would not have hurt her. He just had bad judgment. Simon had to admire Daphne’s clear-headed thinking.
