Summary

In “Where I Go,” Kofi explains that each day after school he goes to the river which is both his hideout and his oasis. When his brother Kwasi comes and tells him to get out of the water, Kofi listens even though at other times he ignores him. He listens when it comes to the water because most of the elders in the village and in his family believe “the river/ is cursed/at nightime” (22).
