Summary

The next diary entry is titled "Monday." Greg plans to lay around all day but Mom decides he needs to make friends. Greg tries to object but Mom remembers the friends she made a summer camp. When a group of boys pass by with fishing poles, she rushes out to say Greg would like to join them. The boys agree he can. On the way to the stream, he discovers they all go by nicknames. There is Juicebox, Big Marcus, Regular Marcus, Weevil, DooDoo, Fivehead, and Cutter. Greg introduces himself as Jimmy Dogface. The stream is shallow, but Greg discovers the boys are more interested in talking than in catching fish. They argue and come to blows, only to dismiss it and talk some more. The guys are regular visitors to the camp and they show Greg around, including when the delivery truck...
