Summary

In Chapter 54, narrated by Natalie, Natalie is surprised when a guard tells her that her bail has been paid. Seth is waiting to pick her up. He tells her that he checked the company’s accounts and that there was no money missing.

Natalie checks her phone and sees she has a message from Caleb. He claims the motel in Rhode Island was a dead end. When Seth tells her that Dawn and Caleb knew each other, and that Dawn recommended Caleb for the job, Natalie wonders if Caleb played some role in framing her for Dawn’s murder. Natalie decides she needs to check out the motel herself.

In Chapter 55, Natalie explains to Seth what happened with Caleb. Seth insists on driving Natalie out to the motel.
