Summary

In the Prologue, Dawn Schiff, the accountant at Vixed, a health supplement business, arranges a meeting with Seth Hoffman, her boss, about an urgent matter.

In Chapter 1, set in the present and narrated by Natalie Farrell, a salesman at Vixed, Natalie notes that Dawn, who is usually very punctual, is late to work. Natalie’s concern about Dawn is interrupted by her friend, Kim Healey, who tells her that the t-shirts for the 5K have arrived. It is the fifth charity run Natalie has organized to benefit cerebral palsy in honor of her late best friend, Amelia, who suffered with the disease.
