Summary

In Chapter 36, set one month earlier, Dawn emails Mia to tell her about what she describes as the worst day at work she has had so far. She says that when she arrived at work, her iris plant in her cubicle had been turned over and the dirt scattered. Her turtles were smashed and broken. A stuffed turtle was laying on its back on the floor with its stomach slit. Red, blood-like liquid was leaking out. Everyone came running when Dawn screamed. Some coworkers laughed, upsetting Dawn even more. Natalie ordered her to calm down and said it was just some turtles.

When Seth came, he claimed it was not vandalism, just a silly prank, and told Dawn to clean up the mess. As she passed Natalie’s cubicle, she noticed an empty ketchup bottle in Natalie’s trash. Dawn believed Natalie...
