Chapter 21 Summary

Cardinal Bem re-reads Archbishop Krasnoy's speech and realizes that he refers to "recent events" which have sparked his call to the faithful. This means that the archbishop was aware of Cardinal Bem's kidnapping before it happened and therefore he was in on it.
