Chapter 2 Summary

After Qwill calls the Glinkos to explain the situation, a man in an emergency truck arrives within minutes, and after inspecting the house, he tells Qwill that a birds nest in the vent needs to be cleaned out. As Qwill cleans the vent out, he thinks that the Glinko network is convenient no matter how corrupt it might be. He relaxes as his first hectic day in Mooseville ends, but it is only a sample of what is yet to come. The next morning, Qwill breakfasts at the Northern Lights Hotel and reads about Buddy Yarrow, the drowning victim. He also reads his column.
