Summary

In Chapter 10, Kate is being held at the Jakarta Police Detention Center. She is upset that the police do not seem interested in finding the two missing children. She is being treated as a suspect in the deaths at the facility. She is in Jakarta so she does not have any access to a lawyer and no call to the American Embassy. The policeman says she thinks the Indonesians are stupid and uses them for her research.

Kate tries to explain that she is trying to cure autism. He accuses her of buying babies on which to experiment. Her trial is the legal guardian of the children in the research trial. He claims a jury will see her as taking their children and running experiments on them which she could not do in the United States. He claims the two children got sick...
