Ask Annie 1-3, Chapters 1-3. Summary

In Ask Annie 1, the advice column, Ask Annie, is published in the Clayton High School "Register." The first letter is from a student calling themselves "Going to Hell." The student asks what to do about their step-mother. The step-mother tells them everything they like is evil. Ask Annie tells the writer they are already in hell, and it is called high school.

In Chapter One, Jen is sitting in Mrs. Mulveney's Latin class when she, and about 23 others, witness Kurt Schraeder kidnapping Betty Ann.
