Summary

Chapter 41 opens with Kenny getting a call from Laura Privan at Windrows telling Kenny that Bradley Dobeck went out in the middle of the night and returned wet, muddy, and scratched up. Andrea picks up Kenny and has two of her children with her. They go to the FBI offices and Kenny meets Ramon. They discuss the evidence of the case and Ramon says the evidence “doesn’t stand up” (309). Andrea then plays Jennifer’s confession about her father murdering Cleon and tells Ramon about the recording of the men at the rifle range. Ramon asks Kenny to delay publishing his story until warrants are issued and arrests made. Kenny is angry and talks to Andrea about how they are on the same side. Andrea explains that “you want it for you and I want it for them” (314).
