Summary

In Episode 1, the narrator introduces Stuntboy. His superhero identity is a secret. Stuntboy’s real name is Portico Reeves. He lives in a castle, which is really an apartment building called Skylight Gardens. Portico “feels lucky” to live here, because it is “like living in a television” (6). Skylight Gardens is filled with different characters, like Mr. Mister who spends his days “tying and retying . . . his shoes” (7). Then there is Portico’s grandmother, Gran Gran, and his cat, A New Name Every Day.

The only thing that is not good about Portico’s life is his “terrible case of…the frets” (9). The frets are what “Portico’s grandma calls . . . ‘anxiety’” (9). When Portico has the frets, he feels “nervous in the brain” and “in the body” (10).
