Chapter 11 Summary

Stargirl continues to get attention for her cheerleading. She not only cheers for her team, but cheers no matter who makes a basket. Off the court, she cheers everything anyone does that seems to her to need cheering. She embarrasses some people with her cheering, while others just laugh at this and for the most part accept her, at least on the surface. The basketball team has an amazing winning streak and the school spirit became not just the desire to win, but also the need to win. At an away game the house is packed. Mica fans expect a slaughter. The need to destroy the other team causes Stargirl to leave the gym. Then the cheerleaders trick her into missing the bus back to Mica.
