Summary

In Chapter 17, Lily Belasco was explaining the nature of the Marrow Fair to Lois after Lois had been introduced to the vendors. She told Lois that all of the exhibits had something special about them, and the Marrow Fair was not open to the public yet, and there were only previews on Wednesdays. Belasco took Lois to a room, and told Lois that that was where she was going to make her bread. However, Belasco wanted Lois to bake the bread with a robot, so Lois would have to find one. Lois explored the room, and tried to figure out how her enormous new oven, the “Faustofen” (106), worked. Lois baked a loaf of bread, and decided that she would try to acquire a robot arm.
