Summary

In Chapter 8, Ecko and Francis “Frankie” Moka, another coach for the national team, introduced the boys from Sudan to the five American players who would round out the team. They took the players to Walt Disney World while they met with college scouts to discuss the most promising players. Samuel was not one of those discussed.

In Chapter 9, Ayak arranged a favor from a local military lieutenant to talk to Samuel using a satellite phone.

The narrator describes each of the games played by Samuel and his team. In the first game, Croatia beat South Sudan 54 to 52. Ecko reminded the team that they did not have to be undefeated.

In Chapter 10, South Sudan won its game against Italy. They played game three in Amway Center, home to the Orlando Magic, against the Ukraine. They were eating lunch in the Magic’s locker room...
