Summary

In "Wednesday," Chapter 13, "Pretty Sentimental," Eva worried about her fight with Audre. Desperate to fix the situation, Eva visited Shane. Because he owed her, she asked if he would teach English at Audre’s school (141). Shane immediately agreed. While emailing the principal, Eva realized this meant "that Shane was staying . . . in her city" (142). Afterwards, the friends took a walk. Shane further described the difficulties of writing sober. They talked about their addictions, and how they had quit. Then they decided to "find new vices. Undangerous ones" (147).

They went to a gelato shop. They talked intimately. Eva explained things about her family she had not explained before. While sitting there, a woman named Charlii invited them to The Dream House.
