Ross Wakeman becomes obsessed with paranormal activities and reports of ghosts several years after the death of his fiancée, Aimee. Ross wants to be reunited with Aimee but his multiple attempts at suicide have failed. Now Ross believes that if he can find proof of ghosts, that he might have hope in meeting Aimee one day as a ghost. However, Ross's eighteen months with a paranormal investigator ends when he realizes the investigator is willing to lie to his clients in order to increase ratings for his television show.

Ross goes to stay with his sister and finds himself pulled into the investigation of paranormal activity associated with a new construction project on what has been dubbed the Pike property. Ross meets a young girl while doing this investigation and quickly falls in love with her when he finds her sympathetic to his struggle with suicide...
