Summary

Chapter 37

When Miles wakes up, it takes him a few minutes to realize where he is. He tries to talk, but there’s a tube in his throat. He makes noises to get the nurses attention. She leaves the room, and two other nurses return to take the tube out of his stomach and put a morphine drip into his IV. They tell him that the doctor will be here shortly. Just before falling asleep, Miles tells himself that he's failed at yet another thing.
