Chapter 25

Miles is walking home from working a shift at Cala Foods. He gets a text from Jackie asking if she can come over to his house. He says yes. Then he sees he has missed a call from Eliza asking Miles to have dinner with her tomorrow night and telling him that she’s ok with him taking things slow. After listening to the message, his thoughts flip flop back and forth between wanting to see Eliza, and thinking what harm is dinner, then to the fact that he must focus totally on finding Teddy. Jackie is already on his porch when he gets home. She’s been crying and explains that she and Preston had a fight. She asks Miles if he thinks Preston has changed and become too much of a partier.
