Summary

In Chapter 11, in lieu of the burnt dinner, Dan takes Annemarie out to eat. She laughs when he tells her that she looks beautiful, but the comment makes her realize how much she has always loved Dan. He kisses her when he drops her off at her house. Inside the house, Annemarie’s mother is still up. She is waiting up for Eva, who told her that Annemarie gave her permission to go out with Luis.

When Eva does arrive, she freezes when she sees both her mother and grandmother waiting for her. She tries to play her grandmother and mother off each other, but Mutti informs Eva she is angry with her as well. After Eva screams at both of them and then stomps upstairs, Mutti invites Annemarie to have a drink with her.
