Summary

Chapter 1 includes the first-person reactions of several of Su Yi’s servants and family members to the news of her death. Catherine and Ah Ling were with Su Yi when she passed. The accounts include a scene in which Eddie throws himself over Su Yi’s dead body and then attacks Nick when Nick enters the room. Nick easily overcomes Eddie by punching him in the nose. Eddie wails because his nose is broken. An obituary including instructions that the visitation and funeral will be by invitation only is also included.

In Chapter 2, Goh Peik Len, Rachel’s best friend, drove her to Tyersall Park to attend the funeral. Carlton, Rachel’s half-brother, had come as well to show his support. The road was blocked with all the mourners coming to pay their respects. A helicopter landed bringing the president of China...
