Part 1, Hell: Chapters 23-30 Summary

Andi and Jules play a set at the club and then are given a meal of stew by the owner. As they eat they are joined by Virgil, another musician who is a friend of Jules. With Virgil, they do another set of songs that consist mostly of Virgil's rap tunes.

Virgil offers to give Andi a ride home. On the way they compare tastes in music and Andi allows Virgil to hook her iPod up to his music system.

Back at G's, Andi reads more of the diary. Alex's family decided to move to Versailles, the city where the king lives, in hopes of more prosperity. Instead the family was forced to live in a stable and perform silly puppet shows. Rumbles of discontent spread as unhappy nobles, clergy, and common people began to band together...
