Summary
When Anna and Tom arrived in Lisbon, they were disappointed with the dilapidated hotel and the view from their room which overlooked an internal courtyard rather than the city. They agreed to ask to be moved to a nicer room. Exploring the city they overheard people in their twenties speaking in English, Portuguese, and French and it reminded them so much of when they’d first arrived in Berlin that they felt like they’d traveled back in time. A lot of things about the city reminded them of life in Berlin, such as the cafes and art galleries. Their work was easy and repetitive. Anna and Tom quickly became bored.
