Summary
The narration suggests that Anna and Tom were, in many ways, leading a double life, their external life which was the life they lived and their life on the internet. Their internet life was a constant stream of images and videos marketing a specific version of the world to them. They would have liked to use social media less but found it impossible because both their professional and social lives were so deeply enmeshed in the social media platforms.
