Summary

In Chapter 15, “Yonkers,” Percy tells Eudora everything about Ganymede’s quest and asks about the River Elisson. She hesitates, calling it dangerous and says the river god will be angry if she tells Percy how to get there. Instead, she flushes him to the nearby town of Yonkers about 30 minutes away from Manhattan so he can find it himself. Percy wades through disgusting water, tripping over snakeskin and finding claws of a Fury, confirming he found the River Elisson. However, he is forced to go back to Annabeth and Grover who have Iris’s staff.

So, in Chapter 16: “Grover Busts out the Snake Songs,” the three friends return the next day and travel upriver to find the cleanest part of the river. Eventually, they find a cavern where the river flows into multiple ponds filled with hundreds of snakes. Annabeth argues they should...
