Summary
In Chapter 6, the narrator bought a gun. The man who sold it to him gave him advice on how to successfully take the gun with him to Europe, despite this being illegal. The narrator says he cannot include this conversation in the novel for legal reasons. He traveled to Milan, Italy. He was met at the airport by a burly black Scottish man whom he refers to for the rest of the novel as The Goon. The narrator was surprised to meet a black person with a broad Scottish accent. The Goon is a big fan of the narrator’s writing. The narrator’s phone is not working. The Goon suggests he should not try to get it working because it will help him detach from what he has left behind in America. The narrator takes this on board and throws his phone...
