Part 1: Chapters 6-7 Summary

In chapter 6, Thor and Patty Jane have an argument in the grocery store just days before Patty Jane is due to give birth. Patty Jane has grown tired of Thor refusing to talk about the baby, so she tries to force him into it. Finally Thor gets fed up with Patty Jane's argument and he leaves her in the store. Thor goes to the home of an English professor and sleeps with her before going to the home of a cheerleader and spending the rest of the night with her. Thor walks home at dawn the next morning, thinking about the freedom he would have if he left Patty Jane.
