Jason “Jay” Reguero

Jason “Jay” Reguero serves as the first-person narrator for this novel. He is a 17-year-old Filipino-American who lives in Michigan. His mother is American and his father is Filipino. Jay’s father moved the family to America when Jay was one year old because he wanted his family to have more opportunities. Even though Jay only lived in the Philippines for one year of his life, he still feels a strong connection to that country. He remembers, in particular, one visit to the Philippines when he was 10.
