Kira Walker

Kira is a sixteen-year-old medic as the story opens. She works in a hospital and chose the maternity ward because she believes she can help find a cure for RM, a virus that has killed every baby born since its release more than a decade earlier. Kira is a selfless person, and believes that her role in maternity will be of some value to the human race. She initially seems to think the key is to continue providing information about the newborns who die in the hope that some piece of that data will provide the key to the cure. She comes to realize the data is repetitive and isn't ever going to help find the cure.
