Summary

Chapter 12

In Chapter 12, Emma is standing on the cliff edge thinking of Jonathan. She was not afraid. She is a hollowed out version of who she used to be. Cole calls out to her and asks what she is doing. He says she will kill herself jumping from that height. Emma jumps off the cliff. She is at peace in the air, but once she hits the water pain shoots through her. She fights to reach the surface and a voice in her head tells her not to bother. Emma breaks the surface and looks up to see Cole hovering at the edge of the cliff.

Emma is hurt and swims toward the shore. Cole jumps in to help her to the shore. She wants to go back to the camp to nurse her wounds. She wraps her leg in a towel before Cole...
